Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional Certification (CBLP) Under Development

Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council and partners, UMD Sea Grant Extension, Wetlands Watch, and Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries Habitat Partners (collectively the CBLP Consortium) are developing a new comprehensive credentialing system: the Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP) Certification Program.

DSC_2481medCBLP will formalize a set of sustainable landscaping standards and ensure that thoroughly trained landscaping professionals will have the skills and expertise to design, install, and maintain small scale conservation landscaping practices for efficient nutrient and sediment removal.  A CBLP online database will serve as a resource for property owners seeking qualified professionals and will provide a means for CBLPs to access and track high quality continuing education.
